Den of Nargun
Gippsland is a beautiful, pristine area of Eastern Victoria with farmlands, national parks and unique townships.
The Den of Nargun in the Mitchell River National Park is a special place in Indigenous culture and is found on the Batuluk Aboriginal Cultural Trail. Hidden down a rather steep valley, the 'Den' was a secret lair for the Nargun, who reportedly abducted children who got too close. It was also a place for secret women's business; initiations and learning ceremonies.
This photograph holds a special place for me coming 3rd place in Landscape category at the 2019 Royal Melbourne Show.
